About the client

Founded in 1910, Rockhurst University is one of the top regional universities in the American Midwest. Located in the heart of Kansas City and home to over 3,000 students, it offers a wide range of degree programs in the liberal arts and beyond.

The challenge

Rockhurst University wanted a more flexible and intuitive on-premises access control solution to replace its aging system. The security team had three key requirements for the new system:

  1. It must be compatible with Rockhurst’s existing hardware
  2. It must integrate seamlessly with the university’s Banner Student System database
  3. It must be more cost-effective, with lower annual software maintenance fees

The solution

We recommended our on-premises access control solution to provide the flexibility Rockhurst required.

Our solution uses a non-proprietary, open architecture that integrates with a wide range of third-party systems. The flexible design lets the Rockhurst University security team add new systems and expand its security solution with ease, to stay one step ahead of threats.

The result

Our solution has become a key component in Rockhurst University’s evolving security solution. Today, our access control software provides robust, reliable, and cost-effective security for the entire campus, including its:

  • Dormitories
  • Classrooms
  • Fitness center
  • Administrative areas

Additionally, the software integrates seamlessly with Rockhurst University’s CCTV system to provide a 360° view of activity across the campus.
