Protecting Poland’s cultural heritage with an adaptable intruder alarm system

About the client

Poland’s Maritime Culture Centre (MCC) is a branch of the National Maritime Museum located in Gdańsk. It educates people on the country’s rich naval heritage, using a combination of interactive exhibits and multimedia to bring history to life.

The challenge

Every year, thousands of people visit the center to learn and be inspired. Chief attractions include the interactive “People-Ships-Ports” room and the “Boats of People of the World exhibit, which features a diverse collection of boats ranging from Inuit kayaks to Venetian gondolas. The MCC also organizes temporary exhibitions on popular maritime topics.

To protect its priceless exhibits and continue providing fun, educational experiences for visitors, the MCC needed a scalable intruder alarm system with embedded access control.

The solution

Based on the MCC’s requirements, we recommended our SPC intruder alarm system.
SPC is a reliable and flexible intruder alarm solution that integrates effortlessly with a wide range of systems. This made it easy to expand and customize the system to secure over 400 alarm zones, 55 areas, and 25 doors across the site.

At the heart of the MCC’s new system is a comprehensive hardware suite, that consists of:

• A suite of SPC6300 control panels with 38 input expanders
• 18 two-door expanders
• 13 keypads
• Five radio-frequency-expanders
